After playing a handful of shows in early 2000, SSB went into the studio that summer to record their demo tape. Inspired by bands such as Ten Yard Fight, 7 Seconds, In My Eyes, Insted, etc., the band's goal was to capture that straight edge youth crew spirit; both musically and lyrically.

The members of the band were quite young at this time and it was the first time they had spent time in a real studio, so it was quite memorable. While it may be a very raw recording, it was overall a positive experience. Even though the band was certain that the engineer disliked working with a bunch of punk kids.

During that time, the band recorded 2 demos, a 7”, on Martyr Records, an unreleased split 7", and appeared on several compilations.
